Many in our fellowship know the struggle and anguish that can accompany having parents who are not believers. Sharing the gospel with our parents–whom we long to honor and respect, yet with whom we find ourselves at odds over the single most important issue in life–can be very difficult.

Darren Carlson has written an extraordinarily helpful and candid word to those with lost parents over on The Gospel Coalition blog entitled, “Sharing the Gospel with the People Who Changed your Diaper”. It is as encouraging as it is insightful. If your parents are far from Christ, heed his counsel and his exhortations. He covers topics such as showing honor, battling the imaginary conversations, using questions to share, praying for other voices to speak, not answering mockers, and not expecting perfection.
