Williams Announcement

Sadly, it is necessary that we deal with a very difficult matter here. This week, Micah and Hannah Williams went public with reports of abuse by their parents, James and Gina Williams. Two reports were made in Kentucky – in Jeffersontown and in Franklin County. Included in Micah and Hannah’s announcement on social media yesterday was a list of schools, businesses and churches with whom their parents had some association. Members of the Williams family, including the parents, visited our services some years back. We think it was late 2010 or early 2011. They were never members and had no ministry roles at our church. Micah and Hannah have requested that anyone with information about this case, please contact the authorities.  You can reach the Jeffersontown Police Department at 502.267.0503 and the Franklin County Sherriff’s Office at 502.875.8740.  Please pray for this family, for Micah, Hannah and any other children who may have been harmed. Pray, too, for those who have the responsibility of working through this information in pursuit of justice. We can be sure that biblical justice will, in time, be done.

While we are not aware of any information that is relevant to this particular case, it does allow us an opportunity to speak to this important matter. If you are enduring mistreatment in this way (at home or somewhere else), there is a hopeful path forward. Abuse simply must be reported to the authorities. If this prospect is intimidating to you, it may be that we can help. If you will reach out to an elder or some other trusted friend in the church, we will accompany you in contacting those in authority and will walk this out with you however we can.
